How it works. Drop a handful of dry kibble or small biscuits through the round opening on one side, give the ball a shake and set it down. As your dog noses, paws and rolls it across the floor, pieces tumble out one or two at a time, so every reward has to be worked for. The opposite side has a second opening with a flexible cross slit, framed by little bone shapes.

Soft, grippy surface. The ball is moulded from rubber with a pebbled, basketball style texture, a groove around the middle and little paw prints pressed into the surface. It has a bit of give when squeezed, which makes it easy to pick up and pleasant for dogs to push about on a kitchen floor, patio or lawn.

Two sizes, four colours. The small ball measures 8 cm across and suits puppies and small breeds, while the large 11 cm ball is better for medium and bigger dogs. Choose red, yellow, green or blue. Use part of your dog's daily kibble so the treat dispensing dog ball becomes a regular game rather than extra food.

Play safely. Pick a size that is too large for your dog to swallow, supervise play and replace the ball if it becomes worn or damaged.
