Collection: Dog Mats & Crate Beds

A dog mat or crate bed gives your dog a flat, padded spot that fits inside a crate, on the floor or in the car. It suits dogs that sprawl out when they sleep and puppies in crate training. Our mats come in sizes S to L, in plush, waffle, flannel and water resistant roll up designs, with prices from £11.

Choosing Dog Mats & Crate Beds

Measure the crate or space first

Measure the inside floor of your crate, or the space where the mat will go, before you order. Choose a mat that fills the floor without bunching up at the sides. If it will be used on the floor, measure your dog lying stretched out and add 10 to 20 cm.

Choosing the right mat

Thin, soft mats such as our heart plush mat suit crates, sofas and car seats. Thicker mats, such as the 8 cm waffle mat with corduroy sides and the crate mat with egg crate foam, give more cushioning on hard floors. Mats with a bolster on one side give your dog a place to rest its head.

Outdoor and travel mats

For the garden, camping or a day out, our roll up outdoor mat is water resistant and has a non slip base. It rolls up for carrying. A raised cot from our raised dog beds range also keeps your dog off cold or damp ground.

Washing and care

Many of our mats are machine washable, which makes them easy to keep fresh in a crate. Check the care section on each product page before washing, and let the mat dry fully before putting it back. For a bed with raised sides, see our sofa and bolster beds.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best bed for a dog crate?

A flat mat that fills the crate floor without bunching up is usually the best choice. Measure the inside of the crate first. Washable mats are practical for crates, especially during puppy training, as they may need washing often.

What size crate mat do I need?

Measure the inside length and width of your crate floor and choose the mat closest to those measurements. A mat that is slightly smaller sits flat; a mat that is too big will fold up at the sides.

Are dog mats machine washable?

Many of our mats are machine washable, including several plush and flannel mats. Care instructions differ between products, so check the care section on each product page before washing.

Is a dog mat comfortable enough for a large dog?

For a large dog on a hard floor, choose a thicker mat, such as our 8 cm waffle mat, or a mat with foam inside. Measure your dog lying stretched out and add 10 to 20 cm to choose the length.

Can I use a dog mat outside?

Our roll up outdoor mat is water resistant and has a non slip base, so it suits gardens, camping and days out. Indoor plush mats are best kept indoors and away from wet ground.
